EVBox 2022 barometer: high expectations for electric mobility in the workplace

According to the latest edition of the EVBox barometer, more than one in two French people believe that companies should offer electric company cars to their employees.

Produced in partnership with Ipos, the EVBox barometer provides a fairly comprehensive overview of electric mobility in Europe. With a panel of some 4,000 respondents from four countries (France, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom), the study highlights in particular high expectations for the development of electric mobility within companies.

The electric company car is popular

More and more European citizens would like their company to offer electric company cars. While the score reached 57% of all respondents, it climbed to 73% in the segment of potential EV drivers. In France, the percentage in the general population has increased from 16% to 55% compared to the last barometer, dating back to 2020.

Charging fees to be financed

In terms of charging, 60% of the panel think that employers should cover the cost of charging electric company cars at the workplace. For home charging, the result is more mixed with 49% of positive responses. In France, it climbs to 65% in the segment of potential EV drivers.

There is also consensus on the deployment of charging stations within companies. In France, 69% of respondents believe that companies should provide charging stations for their customers’ electric vehicles.

Policies to adapt

In France, half of respondents believe that the government should strengthen tax benefits for companies that electrify their fleet.
