“The Tire Extinguishers” is a British group of activists fighting against pollution from cars. They are used to preying on SUVs and large vehicles in urban areas.
Several of them went to the United States to continue their actions in the main cities of the country. The group has not appointed leaders, but it has communicated on social networks about it.
In a tweet, the activists posted a photo of the word they leave on the windshields of the cars they are targeting. After having acted in New York and in Pennsylvania, it is in Chicago that they went to attack other vehicles.

Following their message, the activists explain why it is the users of these vehicles who suffer the damage. According to them, owners of combustion engine SUVs contribute to this problem.
“Even if the impacts on people far away do not reach you, there are also consequences on your neighbors. SUVs cause more pollution than smaller cars. SUVs are more likely to kill people than normal cars in crashes. »
“Psychological studies show that SUV drivers are more likely to take risks. SUVs are not necessary, and are pure vanity. This is why we are doing this action. You will have no trouble getting around without your gas-guzzling car, by walking, taking a bike or public transport. »
Activists are specifically attacking combustion engine SUVs, but are not sparing others: “Do you drive a hybrid or an electric? They are also polluting, dangerous and create traffic jams. »
