The sixth generation of the CR-V will arrive here in 2023, but Honda has already revealed it in the United States.
In 2023, Honda will launch an electric version of the HR-V, the unique ZR-V and the new CR-V in Europe. We will have to wait another year to see the latter on our roads, but it has already been unveiled in the United States, a clearly priority market. Not surprisingly, the CR-V is among the ten best-selling vehicles at Uncle Sam.
We therefore have the US version in front of us, however the European model will be almost identical. If it still offers a 100% thermal block on the other side of the Atlantic, it will only be hybrid with us, as is the case for the current one.
The hybrid also exists for America, with a four-cylinder 2.0 coupled to two electric motors, for a combined power of 204 hp. That’s 20 hp more than the entire new Civic. The operation is similar: the thermal block serves above all as a generator for the electrical part, and only drives the wheels at high speed. However, Honda Europe has not communicated on the model, these characteristics will therefore have to be confirmed for our markets.

Test – Honda Civic e:HEV hybrid: the age of reason for the compact?
In terms of looks, the CR-V follows a path similar to that of the Civic: the design is wiser, more sober. This sixth generation has a smoother side, even if some elements try to give it a little character, like the straight grille facing the road. The CR-V retains its high lights, which return to the tailgate, Volvo XC60 style.
The change is most noticeable inside. Close to that of the Civic, the dashboard is more refined, with a more horizontal organization. The will of the brand is clear: to move the CR-V upmarket. However, the model does not overbid screens, with a 9-inch display in the center and only 7 inches for the instrumentation.
Want to change your CR-V? We will therefore have to wait until next year.
