Citroën has already sold more than 20,000 Ami, the small electric quadricycle. But especially in France and Italy.
With the Friend, Citroën has hit the mark. The small electric machine from the firm with herringbone meets with success. In two years, the brand has recorded more than 23,000 orders. Proof that the vehicle is gaining momentum, the results for the first year were 9,000 orders.
This can be explained in particular by the launch of the Ami on new markets. First reserved for France, the quadricycle arrived in Italy, Spain and Belgium in the spring of 2021. Then there were Portugal, Turkey and Morocco. However, the machine flows above all in France and Italy!
With us, Citroën has recorded more than 13,300 orders, 83% by individuals, the rest by professionals. Do you often see them in front of high schools? Normal, 42% of users are under 18 years old. In Italy, it’s more than 6,700 sales. These two countries thus cumulate 20,000 orders!

The rest therefore represents small volumes: 780 orders in Spain, 724 in Belgium, 476 in Portugal, 641 for Morocco and Turkey. Note that for these two countries, the sale is reserved for professionals.
But a new fine market outside of France is on the horizon: the United Kingdom. Since the publication of prices for this market in May, Citroën has recorded 2,000 pre-orders. For the English, the Friend nevertheless retains its left-hand drive, Citroën wanting to keep a low price and avoid an industrial transformation with a right-hand drive. At least the driver will be on the curb side when going downhill.
For Germany, Stellantis preferred to bet on Opel, which sells a rebadged version of the Ami.
