From now on, electric “Harleys” will be sold under the LiveWire brand. The S2 Del Mar is the first representative.
It’s not obvious at first glance, but it’s (almost) a Harley-Davidson! And it will be even less so at startup, since it will not be no vibration or characteristic noise : this motorcycle is electric.
Having become independent from the Milwaukee-based Harley parent company, the LiveWire entity is now a brand in its own right, entirely dedicated to battery-powered motorcycles.
Its first “100% in-house” model is based on an unprecedented modular platformcalled Arrow, which will be used for other versions.
Information is falling in dribs and drabs on this S2 Del Mar, which sports a flat-track-inspired silhouette, but the American brand announces a 0 to 60 mph (i.e. 96 km/h) swallowed in 3.5 secondsand a range of 160 kilometers between two charges, at urban pace.
The power, rated at 20% less than the previous Harley-Davidson LiveWire (renamed LiveWire One), should be 59.6 kW (81 hp), for a weight of less than 200 kg. On the price side, the brand evokes a base price of around $15,000.

The first 100 copies, including deliveries are scheduled for 2023 in North America, were all pre-booked online in less than 18 minutes! The arrival in Europe of this “Del Mar” is not planned for the moment…
