As its name suggests, it is a crossover version of the Ceed, with the false air of a coupe SUV. And proof that the clientele is never satiated in SUVs, the success is there: 120,000 copies sold in Europe in three years.
This explains why the mid-career update remains light. The more knowledgeable will have noticed the new contour of the grille and the planed tip of the optics, whose light signature has been revised. The new shield is more visible, in particular with its vertical vents on the sides.
At the rear, the chrome insert in the bumper is more discreet. Kia is adding a GT line version to the range, with some sportier elements, such as a semblance of a diffuser. The GT Line has the exclusivity of honeycomb lights. The makeover comes with new rims and new body colors.

In the cabin, it’s almost status quo, because the XCeed already took advantage of large screens (12.3 inches for instrumentation and 10.25 inches for infotainment). We just note improved graphics.
The XCeed does not change its plug-in hybrid engine. This combines a 1.6 GDI block and an electric motor for a maximum cumulative power of 141 hp. There is a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a maximum torque of 265 Nm. Too bad, the restyling is not an opportunity to inflate the battery, which retains a capacity of 8.9 kWh, which is becoming modest these days. . Kia announces an electric range of 48 km (and 59 km in the urban cycle). The brand has reviewed the direction, promised more direct.
This refreshed XCeed will be available in September 2022.
