Pilot Notes
Max Verstappen (1er) : 8/10 → The Dutchman took advantage of his team’s good strategy to set up an impressive race pace. As a result, he left Austin with a victory in his pocket and a 12-point lead in the drivers’ championship.
Lewis Hamilton (2e) : 6/10 → The Briton, author of the best start, suffered from the strategy of the Red Bull team, which took advantage of their excess numbers. In the end, he was unable to display the pace necessary to go for the victory.
Sergio Pérez (3e): 7/10 → The Mexican certainly had the worst race of the entire F1 field. Under the 31 ° C that hit the Circuit of America, Sergio Pérez could not take advantage of his water bottle which was broken in his car. However, the Red Bull driver did the right thing, securing a podium and helping his team put pressure on Lewis Hamilton.
Charles Leclerc (4th): 7/10 → The Monegasque had the perfect race, obtaining the best result he could hope for.
Daniel Ricciardo (5e) : 5/10 → The Australian managed to dominate his teammate over the entire weekend. However, it was never able to compete with Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari.
Valtteri Bottas (6e): 4/10 → After winning the Turkish GP, the Finn reconnects with his old demons. Victim of the mechanics of his Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas started from 9th position on the starting grid. Nonetheless, he struggled to extricate himself from the peloton. As a result, he even saves the furniture with a 6th place. But he was never able to come and help his teammate in the battle for victory.
Carlos Sainz (7e): 4/10 → The Spaniard did not have the same success as his teammate. Starting from 5th position, the Ferrari driver failed to contain the McLaren of Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes).
Lando Norris (8th): 4/10 → To everyone’s surprise, Lando Norris never managed to find rhythm all weekend. The Englishman was dominated and at no time was able to compete with Carlos Sainz …
Yuki Tsunoda (9e): 7/10 → The Japanese save the furniture of the Alpha Tauri clan, after the abandonment of Pierre Gasly. Yuki Tsunoda managed to gradually gain strength, as the sessions progressed. Result, he brings back points and gains confidence for the end of the season.
Sebastian Vettel (10e) : 6/10 → Starting from the back of the grid, the quadruple world champion took advantage of the good offset strategy of his team and the retirements in front of him, to make his way to the top 10.
Antonio Giovinazzi (11e): 4/10 → The fate of the Italian seems to weigh on him. While the Alfa Romeos had a good race pace, Antonio Giovinazzi was never able to climb into the top 10. Moreover, his race is marred by unnecessary quarrels with Fernando Alonso. Frustration seems to take over …
Lance Stroll (12e) : 5/10 → The Canadian also took advantage of his team’s good offbeat strategy to make up for the incident at the first corner which completely ruined his race. Result, he does not obtain the same success as his teammate.
Kimi Raikkonen (13e): 3/10 → The Finn is eager to get it over with and it shows! Kimi Raikkonen could have obtained a top 10 this weekend, but his collision with Fernando Alonso and the circumstances were not enough.
George Russell (14e) : 5/10 → The Briton did the best with what he had. And for that matter, the Williams lacked performance at the Circuit of the Americas.
Nicholas Latifi (15e) : 3/10 → The only time we could see the Canadian at work was at the start when he spun his compatriot.
Mick Schumacher (16e) : 5/10 → The German posted an interesting pace throughout the weekend, but still suffers the slowness of his Haas.
Nikita Mazepin (17th): 4/10 → In a cruel lack of rhythm, the Russian remains true to himself.
Fernando Alonso (DNF) : 2/10 → The two-time world champion, very frustrated with the unreliability and competitiveness of his Alpine, let off steam on Sunday. Result, his race comes down to bumper cars and abandonment. Nothing is to remember …
Esteban Ocon (DNF) : 3/10 → Another victim of the lack of competitiveness of his Alpine, the Frenchman also had no luck on Sunday. He broke his fin on Antonio Giovinazzi’s wheel on the first lap then never found the rhythm to hang up on the peloton, he ended up giving up. Same observation as his teammate.
Pierre Gasly (DNF): Not rated → Like his teammate, Pierre Gasly gained momentum throughout the weekend. Unfortunately his Sunday was made worse by a broken suspension which forced him, very early in the race, to retire.
