MTV UK is relaunching popular tuning show Pimp My Ride, with a new partner: online retail giant eBay.
Famous around the world, the Pimp My Ride franchise is back in England this year. The MTV UK channel is relaunching the show with a new lease of life, in particular thanks to an unprecedented partnership with the online sales site eBay.
Presented by English rapper Lady Leshurr, the six-episode series will launch on MTV UK’s YouTube channel on Friday, August 19. The concept remains the same: transform vehicles in poor condition with a series of new modifications (and sometimes in bad taste, we grant you!) such as bass in the trunk, butterfly doors or even televisions with game consoles integrated. But this time, it is directly on the eBay site that the mechanics will be supplied.
eBay supplier of new or recycled parts
The internationally renowned site is the largest online marketplace for car parts and accessories in the UK with a car part sold every second by more than 40,000 car dealers, garages and companies. It is used by professionals but also amateurs of modifications. It was therefore logical that the partnership develops for the return of the television show after 15 years of absence.
Another great novelty: the use of recycled parts from the circular economy. Pimp My Ride vintage 2022 will highlight the reduced cost and environmental benefits of this more virtuous repair method, thanks to an eBay certified recycling center. But do not panic, the trademark of Pimp My Ride intends to remain faithful to the extravagant preparations made of XXL screens and garish colors.
The transformations carried out by two mechanic brothers from London
For the transformations, the Wrench Studios garage will take care of it. This haunt of English enthusiasts can go from the restoration of a 1966 Beetle to the more muscular preparation of a 1992 Mitsubishi GTO, with inspiration from Fast & Furious. Originally established as a small garage in the heart of London by brothers Hamid and Ray Iqbal, Wrench studios is now based in the suburbs of the capital. The garage is recognized as one of the UK’s leading vehicle tuning and customization shops, customizing cars to the exact requirements of its customers.
