While waiting for its arrival, the Zeekr 001 is making waves: the fake sedan has just won two drift and slalom records.
Zeekr is another brand of the sprawling Geely group, which notably owns Volvo, Polestar, Lotus or Lynk&Co. For its first model, the manufacturer decided to launch the 001, a crossover with a neat presentation. But it is no less dynamic, as its two recent records suggest.
Before getting to the heart of the matter, a reminder of the figures. The Zeekr 001 is based on the Chinese group’s SEA platform, which allows it to carry two electric motors for a total power of 544 hp and 700 Nm of torque. A beautiful cavalry which allows him a 0-100 km / h. But it probably has driving modes that allow it to splurge.
A drift at 207 km/h for the Zeekr 001
Thus, the crossover was able to win the title of the fastest drift for an electric car, with a radar set at 207.996 km / h. An average speed maintained over the 50 m measurement with a minimum drift angle of 30°. Fans of the subject will notice that we are far from the ultimate title won by a Nissan GT-R Nismo, which reached 304.96 km / h. But this is a car specially prepared for the discipline, as useless as it is essential. Also, the crossover leaves with the record for the fastest slalom for an electric with a time of 49.05 s.
These two records were achieved at the beginning of June on the Jiangsu track and with driver Zhao Jungfeng behind the wheel. However, the brand, visibly unconcerned about the competition, has just launched the press release on the Web. For its part, Porsche retains the record for the longest drift with the Taycan.
