This Monday, August 22, Detroit law enforcement arrested three budding car thieves. All minors, their very young age greatly surprised the authorities.
Caught red-handed ! These three young boys aged 11, 12 and 14 respectively were arrested by the police as they attempted to steal cars.
Indeed, the three young people had managed to enter a concession Detroit Stellantis and mainly aimed at Dodge Hellcat et Charger.
Surprised by the warehouse’s security system, the three thieves had no choice but to surrender to the police. The officers in charge of this case were also very surprised by the young age of these intruders.. The lieutenant in charge even mentioned the idea that: “Someone a little older brought these kids here and placed the orders. Older offenders know: “I can do this without really having my hands on it because I didn’t really steal the car”.
Auto theft on the rise
In this region of the United States, auto theft cases are on the rise. +40% compared to 2021 to be precise. But for all that, the local authorities had never dealt with such young thieves.
