The ecological bonus and the conversion bonus granted to buyers of electric or hybrid cars will ultimately not be reduced by € 1,000 on January 1, 2022.
Indeed, the government has just granted a 6-month suspension of the current scale of the ecological bonus which concerns electrified vehicles emitting less than 50g of CO2 / km. It will therefore be reduced by € 1,000 on the 1stis July 2022. Regarding second-hand vehicles, assistance of € 1,000 will always be offered for the purchase of an electric car or van.
The ecological bonus reduced to 1is July 2022
The bonus for the purchase of a new car remains the same as that set at 1is July 2021 by decree. It starts at € 1,000 for a plug-in hybrid vehicle emitting between 21 and 50g of CO2 / km, being able to travel more than 50 km in 100% electric power and costing € 50,000 maximum. The biggest boost for models emitting less than 20 g of CO2 / km is maintained at € 6,000 and capped at 27% of the price of the new vehicle. In the summer of 2022, the maximum bonus will therefore be reduced to € 5,000 or 27% of the price of new.
Conversion premium maintained
No change either for the conversion bonus, can be combined with the ecological bonus, granted to buyers of “clean” cars sending their current mounts to the scrapyard. To benefit from it, the destroyed vehicle must be prior to 2011 for a diesel and 2006 for a gasoline. This bonus gives the right to assistance of € 3,000 for the purchase of a new or used combustion vehicle that uses less energy, and € 5,000 for an electric or plug-in hybrid. At 1is July 2022, the premium for the purchase of a thermal vehicle will be limited to models with CO2 emissions less than 127 g / km.
Towards the end of the bonus for plug-in hybrids
In a question-and-answer session in the Senate, Jean-Noel Guérini, Senator of Bouches-du-Rhône (European Democratic and Social Rally), called on the Ministry of Ecological Transition about plug-in hybrids, singled out for their real CO2 emissions. Minister Barbara Pompili replied that these vehicles today have an educational interest since they allow users to “get used” to electrified vehicles, adding however that he “The bonus for plug-in hybrid vehicles is expected to be abolished in 2022”. A hard blow for the manufacturers who had taken advantage of the strong enthusiasm of fleets and individuals, tempted by the various state subsidies.
