AAt the last Shanghai show, Wuling presented a convertible version of its small electric city car Hongguang Mini EV. A concept which is now coming into production and which should be the cheapest electric convertible… in the world.
Since the launch of its super economical electric city car, Wuling has multiplied the limited series and concepts that should continue to maintain interest in this successful model. So when the concept of a convertible version of the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV made its appearance at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2022, we easily said to ourselves that it was just a new animation without a future, mainly intended to announce the restyling of the model. Especially since convertibles are not necessarily popular on the Chinese market. Urban pollution does not encourage driving with the wind in your hair.
A mini cabriolet with 2 seats
To everyone’s surprise, this convertible of less than 3 meters therefore arrives on the market. It will be officially released in China on September 1 and remains true to the concept. It is a two-seater convertible with a soft top. Available in two shades, black or red. The folding is done according to the same principle as the “large convertibles”, in Z with the upper part which also acts as a hood cover. The mechanism is electric, with manual locking.
A few style changes should be noted on the front and rear bumpers and headlights. Undoubtedly a prelude to the restyling of the closed version… Inside, a new dashboard appeared, with a straighter upper part.
