So that’s unusual! This Wednesday, August 31, a couple from Saintes, in Charente-Maritime, had their car stolen. But the thief resurfaced a few hours later, after filling up with gas.
Annoyed to participate in an improvised car race, this 37-year-old man did not let himself be dismantled. Despite not having a car, he stole one.
In the town of Saintes, a vehicle found favor in his eyes. He is therefore snuck inside illegally before leaving to run his errand. But a few minutes later, the real owners contacted law enforcement to report their car missing.
What they didn’t know at that time was that the famous flight was in fact a “borrowing”. And for good reason, the thief returned a few hours later to drop off the vehicle where he had found it and he was even generous…

Before returning, the thief did a detour to the service station to put ten euros of gasoline in the tank. He obviously wanted to return the car in the state in which he had found it.
Inevitably, the police did not have too much trouble arresting him, despite their surprise at such a situation: “We still had to arrest him, especially since we were looking for him for other facts, and he did not have a license”.
