Tesla is reviewing the entry level of its Model 3 electric sedan, which goes from “Standard Plus” to a simple Model 3. Autonomy increases by 40 kilometers thanks to a new battery, all without changing the price.
The Tesla Model 3, which recently stood out in the ranking of European sales of new vehicles with a first place in September in all categories, is taking advantage of the end of the year to review its services upwards. Indeed, the electric sedan changes its entry level, with the end of the Standard Plus version. It simply becomes “Model 3”, and displays a range slightly greater than the one it replaces.
Nearly 500 km of range for the entry level
Previously displayed at 448 km of range on the WLTP cycle, the “base” Model 3 now boasts 491 km on a single charge. How? ‘Or’ What ? Thanks to a new battery. The old battery, with a capacity of around 55 kWh (Tesla does not officially communicate on the technical characteristics of its accumulators), now goes to 60 kWh. The sedan thus gains 43 km of autonomy on paper. On the other hand, the 0 to 100 km / h is slightly less convincing with 6.1 s against 5.6 s previously.
This entry-level version does not increase its prices, however, with a first price still set at € 43,800. Enough to benefit from the maximum bonus of € 6,000, which imposes a purchase price below € 45,000. The Long Range and Performance variants do not move either, and remain respectively displayed at € 52,990 and € 59,990. The autonomy is set at 614 km for the Grande Autonomie variant and goes down to 547 km for the Model 3 Performance.
Standard heated steering wheel and rear seats
Other news that Tesla shares: the steering wheel and rear seats are now heated as standard. Until now, these two elements were in paid update on the Model 3 Standard Plus, while the other two versions already benefit from it as standard.
Tesla specifies that the vehicles configured and ordered at the beginning of November can be delivered in February 2022. If you want to drive a Tesla Model 3 earlier, the manufacturer also offers a selection of vehicles in stock, but which does not will therefore not have this new basic variant with greater autonomy …
