Already unveiled with a new 100% electric version, the new Transit Custom will also be available as a plug-in hybrid.
The new generation of the Ford Transit Custom debuted with an ambitious 100% electric version, which promises up to 380 km of autonomy. However, you will have to be patient to take possession of it: deliveries will begin at the end of 2023.
This E-Transit Custom does not end the plug-in hybrid version. At the Hanover Motor Show, Ford announced that this engine will still be offered on the Transit Custom. But the technical sheet changes.
The current Transit Custom plug-in hybrid has an electric unit that is the only one to send its power to the front wheels. The 1.0 Ecoboost petrol engine serves as a range extender. For the new generation, Ford has taken over the technical package of the Kuga, the best-selling PHEV in Europe in 2021.

On the SUV, there is a four-cylinder petrol engine with the Atkinson cycle and an electric block, for a maximum cumulative power of 225 hp. The new model receives a battery of 11.8 kWh (usable). The range in all-electric mode exceeds 50 km.
But Ford does not go into details, the plug-in version should also not arrive in dealerships for a while, surely in the summer of 2023. Priority will remain given to diesel, it should not be forgotten that it’s a utility!
