The small German start-up Electric Brands is growing its wings. At the commercial vehicle show in Hanover, it unveiled several new features, including the xBus S and new versions of its little Evetta.
In the wake of the acquisition of Artega and the announcement of the city car Evetta, Electric Brands multiplies the novelties. While the formal launch of its small utility xBus (born eBussy) is very close, the German brand offers us a new version, the xBus S. S like Small. The principle is therefore similar: a small electric utility vehicle with a nice look, equipped with a modular rear cell. But much smaller. The length thus increases to only 3.20.
It is also narrower (1430 mm) and only has one seat on board for a driver installed in the center of the small cabin. The steering wheel is identical to that of the xBus, and a small screen is installed at the bottom right. Probably lacks a support to install a phone in a more ergonomic way… There is still time to refine the whole, since it must be released in 2024…
For loading, we remain on the modular principle of the xBus, with, on the program, van or platform versions. No minibus or motorhome version here. The machine, which can also be declined in 4 wheel drive (with wheel motors) is capable of carrying 1.6 m3 in this exposed version, for a payload of 750 kg. The advertised autonomy is only 120 km. And again, she is doped by the 6 m2 solar panels that would cover part of the bodywork.
During the presentation of the Evetta, inherited from the takeover of Artega, Electric Brands showed us a utility version of the city car: the front section of the car was grafted onto a ladder chassis at the rear for a look of old-fashioned truck. A second version is now added to the program. Here a box is simply grafted to the back. The vehicle on display is displayed in the colors of a pizzeria, insulated boxes to support it in the trunk… In both cases, the Evetta retains its large door which opens with the steering wheel, its two-seater bench, but also its small all opening canvas. And a significant price that flirts with 20,000 euros.
