Ford’s electric SUV now starts above €60,000. The entry ticket has increased by more than €10,000 since the launch.
New range construction for the Mustang Mach-e. Ford’s electric SUV is now available in three trim levels named Base, Premium and GT.
Technically, the Base is content with the Propulsion variant of 269 hp with the small 76 kWh battery, for a range of 440 km.
The new Premium variant leaves the choice between three technical configurations. There is a propulsion associated with the large battery (99 kWh, 294 hp), with the greatest autonomy, 600 km. And there are two AWD four-wheel drives, with both battery sizes: 76 kWh/269 hp and 99 kWh/351 hp.
No change at the top of the range, the GT version has its own sporty configuration, with a power of 487 hp and the 99 kWh battery, for a range of 490 km.
With the introduction of this new range, prices have increased further. From now on, the basic propulsion costs 61.650 €. Last spring, the cheapest Mustang Mach-E was €56,400. And when it arrived at the dealerships, it was €48,990!
This therefore gives more than 12,000 € of increase in a year and a half, not to mention that the car no longer benefits from an ecological bonus. The surge in prices can be explained in particular by the sharp increase in the cost of materials. Electric cars are even doubly penalized, due to soaring battery prices. In the spring, Ford’s financial manager indicated that the brand was losing money on each Mach-E sold, while the car was generating profits when it was launched.
At the top of the offer, when it was marketed in mid-2021, the GT was at €77,490. It is now €87,200.
