Presented in Munich, the Ora Cat 01 begins its marketing in the United Kingdom in December. Its price will be 25,000 pounds, or 5,000 pounds less than the Volkswagen ID.3.
Presented at the Munich Motor Show in September 2021, the Ora Cat 01 from the Chinese group Great Wall will land in Europe in 2022. The manufacturer thus announces the opening of orders with our English neighbors from December 2021.
The Ora Cat 01, a 100% electric compact whose design seems to be inspired by the Porsche 911, Mini and VW ID.3, will begin marketing from 25,000 books (€ 29,200) on the English market according to our colleagues fromAutoExpress. That’s 5,000 pounds less than the Volkswagen ID.3, its main rival.
A serious competitor for the ID.3?
The Ora Cat 01 has a 169 hp electric motor, delivering 250 Nm of torque. For the battery, two versions will be available: 48 or 63 kWh, allowing a range of more than 400 km. The 0 to 50 km / h is folded 3.8 s depending on the brand. For recharging, the system supports 80 kW fast charging, which allows the 63 kWh version to recover 80% of the battery in 50 minutes.
On board, the electric compact adopts a dashboard similar to that of the Volkswagen ID.3, with two screens of 10.25 inches each side by side. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and future updates can be supported remotely using “over-the-air”.
Already operated in China since 2020, the first Cat 01 deliveries will take place in the first half of 2022 in Europe. For the moment, the marketing in France has not been officially announced. If the model were to put its wheels on our premises, it could exceed 30,000 €.
