Many parking reports were sent in error due to a computer bug. Find out how to get reimbursed.
If you own a car, you have most likely already faced the FPS (Post-Parking Package), which is none other than the fine imposed for underpayment when parking on the street. Usually, it is not possible to receive a fine, parking then being controlled by police officers or private companies. But for several weeks, from September 16 to October 9, many Parisian motorists were however surprised to receive parking tickets in their mailbox, even though they had paid well for the latter. As our colleagues from Le Parisien relate, many people have been victims of what was in reality only a computer bug, coming from ” computer system for managing virtual surface parking tickets ».
But if the Town Hall has now solved the problem and canceled the PV, everything is not yet resolved. Indeed, many motorists have already paid the fine, in order to be able to challenge it later. A situation about which the City of Paris wants to be reassuring, affirming that it is quite possible to request the reimbursement of this payment, through an email sent to the people concerned. This confirmed that it was indeed an error and that it had been resolved. Except that here is, many of them then believed in a scam, and quite simply refused to send by email the supporting documents requested in order to proceed to the refund. Enough to complicate an already grotesque situation.
How do you get reimbursed?
If you have been the victim of this computer bug and want to get your money back, it’s very simple. You just need to send an email to the address [email protected] and include several supporting documents.
- Your RIB
