At the Paris Motor Show, the Alpine stand reveals an unexpected study taking the appearance of a hypercar reserved for endurance. But on closer inspection, it contains many clues as to the physiognomy of future models in the range.
Alpine Alpenglow – Many of them predicted the arrival of a concept car prefiguring the future Alpine electric SUV, expected in 2025. It is ultimately a much more radical rolling object that the Dieppe firm reserves for visitors to the Porte de Versailles. The Alpine Alpenglow, that’s its name, seems to respond head-on to the Peugeot 9×8 which will line up at the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year, with its tapered profile. The manufacturer does not deny that it wants to inspire its future competitors with the lines of this impressive showcar.
On the other hand, if the machine prides itself on being powered by a fuel cell, no characteristic is communicated to it by the official voice. Shame. We easily imagined it approaching 1,000 hp, or even more, as its profile exudes performance. The Alpenglow, whose name refers to the luminous phenomenon that lets a horizontal net of light tinged with red show through the mountains before sunrise and after sunset, prefers to focus on design, promising that some of its gimmicks will be taken over by future models of the brand.
Its horizontal light signature, through which emanates luminous flakes, will be taken up on the future electric crossover promised to be marketed in three years, as will the red line starting at the base of the windshield and extending into the passenger compartment. A future interior environment which, as on Alpenglow, should make extensive use of Alcantara to combine sportiness with refinement.

There is no doubt that visitors to the Mondial will reserve a warm welcome for this Alpine with its breathtaking lines, the racing cars becoming rare on this 2022 edition. A dream object which will find its realization in the future productions of the Norman craftsman. One more reason to rejoice in the revival of the brand, for several years, although its future will be played exclusively in electric.
