Apple is interested in the electric car. For the moment, nothing is filtering, but the team responsible for implanting the apple in the automotive world continues to form.

This is the old one Tesla Autopilot development manager who joined the ranks of Apple. Christopher “CJ” Moore therefore rallies the multinational specialized in electronics to the Apple Car project (unofficial name).

After seven years at Tesla, “CJ” therefore changes employer but should not be too disoriented. And for good reason, he joinsformer colleagues at Tesla also left for new horizons in Cupertino.

All these inter-firm movements only confirm one thing. The autonomous car project becomes more and more concrete at Apple. Even though it has been mentioned for years, we seem to be entering a decisive phase.

Towards a Tesla-Apple war?

The cohabitation between the two American giants is not easy. As long as Apple stayed in its domain everything was fine. But since 2015 and the famous Project Titan (autonomous car), things are not so obvious anymore.

And for good reason, there are many Tesla employees to have joined the other side, including 46 in 2018 alone. But especially most of the thinking heads. Christopher Moore here, but also Stuart Bowers, former director of the Autopilot team for Tesla.

Finally, the icing on the cake, Christopher Moore left Tesla under very difficult conditions. Indeed, the manager withdrew following his testimony before the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). In the latter, he explained that Elon Musk’s statements regarding his self-driving cars “did not correspond to reality”. Atmosphere.
