F1 - Brazil: Hamilton disqualified!

The sentence of the commissioners fell. Lewis Hamilton is disqualified from qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix for an illegal DRS on his Mercedes.

The controversy has been revolving around the Formula 1 paddock since last night, after the qualifying session. Red Bull pointed the finger at Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes DRS; while Mercedes claimed that Max Verstappen touched this famous rear spoiler.

The fact is that the commissioners carried out the investigation and took the decision to sanction Lewis Hamilton who had an irregularity on the DRS of his car. The latter opened more than the regulatory limit and therefore saw himself benefiting from a definite advantage on the track. Conversely, Max Verstappen was fined 50,000 euros for breaking the rules when he touched the Briton’s Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton will therefore start from 20th place on the starting grid of the sprint race. And therefore leaves Max Verstappen alone in the lead, and therefore in pole position this Saturday! A hard blow for the Mercedes clan in the fight for the championship which will therefore concede many points, but in addition 5 penalty places, Sunday on the starting grid of the race.
