TOGG, a new Turkish automotive group, is about to launch its first model: an electric SUV. Patent images have been published on the Internet.
At the end of 2019, a new automotive group was born. TOGG (for “Türkiye’nin Otomobili Girisim Grubu”), a company made up of six Turkish companies, occasionally presented two concepts, an SUV and a sedan. Things are progressing for the group, since images of the production SUV have been spotted on the Internet, coming from a patent filing bank.
The final version close to commercialization
They are our colleagues d’AutoWeek who discovered the clichés, quite close to the concept car designed with Pininfarina. The model has not yet revealed all its secrets (not even its name!) But seems close to commercialization. There are a few details that distinguish the production model from the concept car. This is the case of door handles, which were flush on the study and become more traditional, as well as headlights that widen at the front. The camera mirrors, very thin, are replaced by more traditional mirrors in some shots. We also note the appearance of fog lights at the front.
Our smart SUV device, whose electronic and mechanical system approval and functional prototype production processes were completed in Turkey, received pre-approval.
We sent our functional prototypes to accredited test centers for safety, thermal, strength, dynamic and performance tests. #TOGG pic.twitter.com/3d1zckOna0

100% electric, the TOGG SUV can have two grille variants: closed, or more open and fitted with vertical slats. Little technical information has been revealed by the young manufacturer since the presentation of the concept in 2019. It should nevertheless display a similar technical sheet, with a 4 × 2 version offering 200 hp or a 4 × 4 variant offering 400 hp. Autonomy was announced between 300 and 500 km. The SUV will be produced at the Gemlik plant in Turkey. Initially, only the SUV will be marketed by the brand, before being joined by other models such as a sedan, a compact crossover and a minivan.
