The Japanese company NTT Docomo has just announced its new drone in the form of a mini-airship. Using ultrasound rather than rotors, it is quiet and safe in a crash.

A perfectly silent drone
The device uses a fairly original mode of propulsion. On each side of the ball is a small module ultrasound which creates currents ofair thanks to vibrations, thus moving the device. Such drone will not be able to operate outdoors, but it has the advantage of being perfectly silent. Equipped with a camera, it can therefore film indoors, for example during events, in commercial buildings … without risk for the participants and without the characteristic drone roar.
The device is also equipped with LED, and in the absence of a rotor it should have excellent autonomy. The company plans to market its drone by March 2022, but has not yet released a price.
