Honda launches the new Civic Type R, 25 years after the first generation. The sports car is subject to good inflation, with a price set at €55,000, excluding penalties and options.
Presented last July, the new Honda Civic Type R will soon arrive in dealerships. Honda announces its imminent commercialization and reveals one of the information that we lacked: its price. This one is rather salty, with an entry price set at €55,000.
The sports car, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is therefore more expensive than the one it replaces with a difference of around €10,000. And again, to this is added the penalty, which will increase in 2023 according to the scale to €12,552. The bill therefore reaches €67,552, excluding any options. Within the catalog, there are, for example, five body colors (standard or €650), a Carbon Pack (€2,610) or the Red Illumination Pack (€1,000).
The 2.0 turbo pushed to 329 hp
Admittedly, this new Civic Type R gains in power with a 2.0 turbo four-cylinder of 329 hp (+ 9 hp) and 420 Nm (+ 20 Nm. The six-speed manual gearbox is more efficient thanks to gear changes The performance is in tune, with a 0 to 100 km/h shot in 5.4 s and a top speed increased to 275 km/h.
The Civic Type R is still as demonstrative in terms of style, with its imposing rear spoiler, its three central exhaust outlets and its red upholstery at the front and black at the rear. The lightweight 19-inch wheels, painted matte black, are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires as standard.
