Renault is reviewing the prices of its range again in December, with a big price increase on certain models including the Mégane E-Tech. It requires 1,300 to 2,300 € more depending on the version.
As of December 1, the Renault range once again experienced significant inflation. The prices of most models have taken several hundreds or thousands of additional euros, so much so that one wonders if this price madness will ever stop. For the electric Mégane E-Tech, it’s once again a cold shower, with a price increase of 1,300 to 2,300 € depending on the version chosen!
Entry-level at €37,000
The electric Mégane, however marketed for a short time, is already in its third evolution of tariffs. Recently, it had slightly reduced the price of certain versions to allow them to benefit from the maximum ecological bonus of €6,000. As a reminder, the ceiling for being entitled to the maximum aid was recently raised to €47,000. But this surge of generosity is well and truly over, and Renault is again increasing the bill. The Mégane E-Tech Electric now asks for €37,000 at the entry-level “Equilibre EV40 130 ch standard charge”, ie €1,800 more than before.
The whole range of finishes and versions is concerned. In detail, the price increases as follows:
- + €1,300 on Techno super charge
- + €1,510 on Iconic super charge and optimum charge
- + €1,800 on Equilibre, Evolution ER super charge and Techno optimum charge
- + €2,300 sur Evolution IS optimum charge
A version above 45,000 €
With this increase, the top-of-the-range Iconic variant in its “optimum charge” version therefore exceeds the ceiling of €47,000, which lowers its bonus from €6,000 to €2,000 (in 2022, since the 2023 scale further lowers the aids). By adding a few options to the lower versions, the risk is also to increase the bill and lose more than half of the bonus.
In addition to this, Renault has revamped the range by removing some versions. The high-end Techno and Iconic finishes are only equipped with the most powerful 220 hp engine and the large 60 kWh battery. On the Equilibre finish, the large motor and large battery version with “optimum charge” has been removed.
