Realme’s next smartphone should have the fastest charging on the market. With 240 watts, the GT Neo5 will come with a charger capable of fully recharging it in less than 10 minutes.
240 watts! This is the power that will be delivered by the charger of Realme’s next smartphone. The manufacturer has announced a conference for this Thursday to talk in more detail about the GT Neo5’s fast charging technology. Currently, the fastest charging on the market is Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 Explorer with 210 watts.
According to leaked images of the charger, Realme uses Oppo’s SuperVOOC technology. This is hardly surprising, given that the two companies have a partnership for research and development. The final product could, however, have another name. The GT Neo5 will integrate a battery with two cells, each receiving 10V for 12 A (i.e. 10V for 24 A in total). A standard smartphone can thus be charged in just 9 minutes, and reach 50% charge in just 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

An imminent launch for the Realme GT Neo5
Oppo had demonstrated this technology last February, during the WMC 2022. The manufacturer has not yet launched a device integrating its 240 W SuperVOOC, and therefore Realme could be the first to launch a consumer smartphone equipped with this fast charging.
It should also be remembered that OnePlus also partnered with Oppo and Realme to combine part of its research and development department two years ago. This technology could therefore potentially arrive on an upcoming smartphone from the brand. The Realme GT Neo5 is expected to launch in the first quarter of this year with 240W and 150W versions. to 512 GB of storage. It remains to be seen the total recharge time of this smartphone, which will depend on the capacity of its battery. We’ll no doubt know more when Realme announces this Thursday.
