After Ford and its F-150 Lightning, it’s RAM’s turn to present its vision of the electric pickup. The 1500 Revolution is unveiled as a concept at CES in Las Vegas.
American car manufacturers have been slow to get started, but they now seem ready to go electric, even for their famous pick-ups. In recent months, several trendy “trucks” have emerged. In addition to the Arlesian Tesla Cybertruck (almost definitive) and the Rivian R1T marketed since September 2021, Ford is successfully marketing the F-150 Lightning and is struggling to keep up with the production rate to meet demand, and GMC offers a big Hummer with an elephantine weight (4.1 tons!). RAM, meanwhile, is just unveiling a concept at CES in Las Vegas.
For the 2023 edition of the show, the Stellantis group came with full arms (notably with the Peugeot Inception concept a few meters away) and thus unveiled the RAM 1500 Revolution BEV. This study, very close to the series, announces the arrival of a 100% electric model in the catalog from 2024. It introduces the group’s new architecture, STLA Frame, designed for large electric vehicles. RAM indicates that the model is equipped with two electric motors, but does not specify the power of these. The pickup is equipped with four-wheel drive and steering, offering more maneuverability thanks to an angle of up to 15 degrees.
A new style for RAM pickups
In terms of style, the RAM 1500 Revolution BEV is distinguished by an original front panel incorporating a large illuminated RAM logo, framed by two large tuning fork-shaped LED headlights according to the brand. At the rear, it is an astonishing double door that challenges, instead of the usual tailgate of pick-ups. The glass roof is relatively low and streamlined. It is extended by a spoiler with two scoops which strangely seem to direct the air towards the dumpster. The side doors are with antagonistic opening thanks to retractable handles. This makes it possible to offer better access on board, amplified by the absence of a central pillar. The RAM can carry 6 passengers in two rows in the classic configuration, and offers a third row of folding seats in the rear if necessary.
The passenger compartment incorporates a modern dashboard, taking up the theme of the tuning fork thanks to ambient lighting. In the center of the dashboard, a deployable double screen of 28 inches in total allows control of the multimedia system and the air conditioning. It adopts shortcut keys at the bottom of the main slab. The high central console can be transformed into a mobile workstation, thanks to a small aviation-style tablet.

The data sheet of the electric pickup is still light. We do not know the capacity of the battery in particular. RAM specifies, however, that the concept is equipped with an 800V direct current charging system (like a Porsche Taycan or a Hyundai Ioniq 5), allowing you to recover up to 160 km of autonomy in 10 minutes of charging on a fast terminal. in 350 kW.
