In Reims, a man was checked while driving when he was positive for cannabis and without a driving license three times between October and December.
It is a “gran slam” of which there is nothing to be proud of that a 22-year-old driver driving in Reims has just achieved. The young man was stopped driving in October, November and December. Each time he was narcotics positive test.
The first scene takes place on October 8, 2022, at 12:30 a.m. The police pass a Peugeot 307, driven by a man without seat belt. After a U-turn, the members of the police quickly catch up with the driver. This last one is tested positive for cannabis, his car is not insured and he no longer has his driver’s license. The fault of a previous… driving under narcotics, already observed in January 2022 !
Released pending the procedure, he did it again on November 18 next. The fault with the passage of an orange light having turned to red. The cannabis test is also positive. History repeats itself again on December 7, after another release. Everytime, saliva and blood tests came back positive.
The motorist judged in immediate appearance
For these reasons, the prosecution joined (!) all the procedures. The procedure did not last any longer, since the motorist went to immediate appearance. He was sentenced to eleven months in prison, five of them being subject to probation. The latter includes an obligation to work, to take medical care and to follow a road safety awareness course.
The man was left free and will have to serve his prison sentence… at home, with an electronic bracelet! Remember that the penalties incurred go up to two years in prison and a fine of 4,500 eurosif there is no accident.
