If the price of fuels has risen sharply since the beginning of the year, the liter of E85 is the one that has jumped the most. And it’s not just the end of the fuel allowance. But that, we explained to you just yesterday. In 2023, its prices should generally stabilize. There may be some changes, but very small, simply because there is a share of gasoline in bioethanol. And, the problem with gasoline is that it is more difficult to predict what will happen to this fuel since its price is volatile, it changes day after day. But if there is one thing that should absolutely not change according to Sylvain Demoures, the general secretary of the National Union of Agricultural Alcohol Producers (SNPAA), it is the taxation of E85.
The state does not decide on its own
A very simple reason for this. Since the affair of the yellow vests, the government has been very reluctant to touch the price of fuels in general. And this does not only concern bioethanol for once.
You have to remember one thing, when we talk about the State, we sometimes have the impression that the Ministry of the Economy can decide everything on its own. However, it is not the case. A tax increase is necessarily voted in a finance law. And who votes? They are deputies and senators.
