Audi is preparing the restyling of its e-tron, scheduled for next year. The update will be mainly technical, with greater autonomy.
Launched in 2018, Audi’s first electric SUV is starting to age. Indeed, if it was a little alone in its segment at the start, the e-tron has since been joined by sharper competitors like the BMW iX. The Audi e-tron and its e-tron Sportback “coupé” variant will therefore receive a restyling next year. to get back into the race.
Minor cosmetic touch-ups
As often with the German manufacturer, aesthetic changes should be counted on the fingers of one hand. The update is almost ready already, as the first spy photos of camouflaged prototypes show. Under the tarpaulins, we notice new headlamps at the front and rear, as well as a revised grille, which abandons vertical slats for a honeycomb pattern. On the other hand, the SUV is always equipped with camera mirrors.
Where the e-tron should evolve the most is under the hood. The model now has up to 446 km of range on the WLTP cycle thanks to its 95 kWh battery version. But it is rather around 300 to 350 km in real conditions. Thanks to some improvements on the electric block and the battery capacity, the SUV with the rings could approach the 600 km of autonomy altogether… like a certain BMW iX.
Marketing in 2022
The restyled Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback will be presented and marketed in the course of 2022. They will thus continue their career for four years, before being replaced by the future Q8 e-tron in 2026.
