Anne Hidalgo still intends to ban diesels from circulating in Paris in 2024 and intends to catch up on mobility in Paris.
Anne Hidalgo stays the course on its policy for cars in Paris. The mayor (PS) of Paris still counts ban diesels from circulating in the capital by 2024. In an interview given to Parisian on January 15, she points to a public health issue. While the discussions around the Parc des Princes are going well, she also takes the opportunity to tackling Emmanuel Macron on the leasing of electric cars :
“We must maintain the planned schedule (for the ban on diesels in Paris in 2024, Editor’s note), it is a public health issue. The idea is to accompany people who really need their car, not to punish them. I look forward to Emmanuel Macron’s promise of social leasing for electric vehicles. I had done the same, but I would have implemented it quickly. »
Banning diesels from Paris in 2024, mission impossible?
The low-emissions zone of the Greater Paris Metropolis should indeed ban vehicles classified Crit’Air 2 by 2024. Which includes all diesels. Except that the calendar has been remodeled. Crit’Air 3 cars should thus be banned on July 1, 2023. The website of the City of Paris bears witness to this:
« The 1is July 2022, the Council of the Greater Paris Metropolis adopted a deliberation postponing the next stage of the low-emissions zone for one year: this will take place on 1is July 2023.”
However, Anne Hidalgo wishes help Paris catch up on mobility issues. Of course, she does not wear not the car in his heart :
“We have to catch up with Paris on mobility issues. A city that revolves only around the car, that no longer exists. Or they are cities that are not doing well. »
