Opel is pricing its Astra and Grandland GSe, more dynamic and sportier-looking plug-in hybrid variants.
Presented almost simultaneously in September and October 2022, the GSe plug-in hybrid versions of the Opel Astra and Grandland are now available to order. The manufacturer has just unveiled the prices for these sportier-looking finishes, only available with the sportiest PHEV engines of the Stellantis group. And they are not given!
The Astra exceeds 47,000 €
Thanks to this GSe finish, the Astra adopts the 225 hp plug-in hybrid for the first time, until now reserved for the Peugeot 308 and DS4 cousins. While waiting for the 100% electric version derived from the Peugeot e-308, it is therefore the 1.6 turbo of 180 hp associated with a 110 hp electric motor which officiates, for a cumulative power of 225 hp. The 12.4 kWh battery allows it to reach 64 km. The GSe finish also benefits from a specific look (shields, rims) and firmer steering, brake and chassis settings, in particular thanks to Koni FSD shock absorbers.
The Astra GSe is available from €47,400 in a 5-door sedan, i.e. €5,100 more than the 180 hp plug-in hybrid version in the GS finish, which is a little less equipped. It’s almost the same price as a Peugeot 308 GT equipped with the same 225 engine. The Lionne is displayed at €47,470. Note that in 2023, rechargeable hybrids no longer benefit from ecological bonuses.
It is therefore the most expensive Astra ever marketed, knowing that the model starts today at €25,100 in 110 hp petrol. The Astra Sports Tourer break will be marketed a few months later, and does not yet give its prices for the moment.
The Grandland GSe more expensive than the Peugeot 3008 GT!
The Grandland finds the 300 hp PHEV engine also available on the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 and DS7 E-Tense 4×4 cousins. In September 2022, this 300 hp engine was already in the catalog with a high Ultimate finish for €55,400. Now, the Grandland GSe is available from €58,850. Quite an inflation (+ €3,450) in just a few months, not to mention the loss of the bonus since the start of 2023 for PHEVs. The price even exceeds that of a Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 in GT finish, which is currently displayed at €58,120.
