Vanwall is one of the newest manufacturers to emerge. It presents the Vandervell S, which promises up to 588 hp!

Almost every day sees the birth of a new electric car manufacturer. However, not all of them come from mysterious Chinese provinces, and not all of them are really new. This is the case of Vanwall, which is reborn from its ashes: the company was founded in England in 1954. Things have now changed, but not the sporting spirit, as proven by the Vanwall Vandervell S and S Plus.

The name of the company is no stranger to motor sports enthusiasts since Vanwall has just announced its participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMH category. And it was above all a recognized team in Formula 1 at the end of the 1960s. From now on, Vanwall has passed under the German banner, and presents its electric sports car: the Vandervell. Behind its cubic silhouette, the Vanwall Vandervell carries two electric machines. In the S version, it promises a power of 324 hp, allowing it to go from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 s.

Much higher is the S Plus, which puts 588 hp on the bitumen and drops the acceleration exercise to 3.4 s. The capacity of the on-board battery was not specified. However, Vanwall mentions a total autonomy of 450 km with the Vandervell S, and 420 km with the Vandervell S Plus. For now, this is the only information known for this exclusive car which will be limited to 500 copies and displayed at a price of €128,000 excluding tax.

Nevertheless, it would not be so exclusive as observers have noticed: this sports car displays a disturbing resemblance to… the Hyundai Ioniq 5. In addition, the power and autonomy values are also very close to those put forward by the Ioniq 5, or by the Kia EV6 more precisely. Which means that this Vanwall Vendervell would benefit from the e-GMP platform. A case to follow, therefore, for the one ahead of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
