Since 2018, private radar cars have been circulating in France. They are gradually taking over the whole territory and many motorists have already had to deal with them. If so, it probably happened produced on a fridayespecially in the morning, between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m..

On Fridays and in the morning, the peaks of private car-radar checks
By analyzing the checks carried out, they revealed a peak of checks on Friday. For one day, the time slot 9am-10am is when the most checks are carried out. The activity increases crescendo each day of the week to reach the peak of Friday, before a weekend slack.
In terms of control hours for a typical day, it starts strong (more than 560,000 checks at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.). There follows a relaxation around noon and a new increase in controls at the end of the afternoon (more than 560,000 checks at 4 p.m.).

- Monday – 813 068
- Mardi – 1 063 628
- Wednesday – 1,107,795
- Thursday – 1,129,495
- Friday – 1,188,560
- Saturday – 755,052
- Sunday – 593,121

Remember that private radar cars are deployed, little by little, throughout France. 381 unmarked radar cars are in circulation at the start of 2023 in France, recently revealed Florence Guillaume, new interministerial delegate for road safety, at the Parisian/ Today in France.
223 of these are in the hands of private drivers. The remaining 158 are driven by members of law enforcement. which shouldn’t lastas already announced by Road Safety in 2018:
“Eventually, the entire fleet of radar cars will be transformed into outsourced driving mode. This will free up time for the police to devote to tasks where it is essential to intercept the motorist, such as blood alcohol or narcotics checks. The objective is to increase the daily use time of these sophisticated vehicles, which will increase from an hour and a half on average to six or even eight hours. »
