Land Rover is very slightly reworking the Velar, launched in 2017. The update mainly concerns the cabin and the rechargeable hybrid engine, which gains in autonomy.
Launched in 2017, the Range Rover Velar receives a slight update at the start of 2023. This is rather subtle, and focuses on the technical and software part.
Despite the recent addition of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport to the range, the sleek, modern design of the Range Rover Velar hasn’t aged too much and therefore receives hardly any visible changes. Just notice reworked headlights and grille, with a finer LED light signature at the front and rear, and a revised rear bumper.
A new touch screen to replace the two superimposed tiles
Inside, the dashboard is changing with a new 11.4-inch touch screen placed a little higher, in place of the two previously superimposed tiles. The curved and floating glass screen centralizes the Pivi Pro multimedia system (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and the controls for climate control, driving mode or audio volume displayed on new sidebars, permanently visible. The central console is therefore slightly reworked with wooden inserts, while new upholsteries without leather, in wool blend or in polyurethane textile, are offered. Land Rover specifies that the model has remote updates, in particular for the Pivi Pro system, navigation or even chassis and engine systems.

On the technical side, the Velar renews three engines: the D200 diesels (4-cylinder 2.0 204 hp MHEV) and D300 (six-cylinder 3.0 300 hp) or the rechargeable hybrid P400e. On the other hand, it is evolving on the battery side with a new 19.2 kWh lithium-ion battery (against XXX so far). Enough to increase the electric range from 53 to 64 km according to the WLTP cycle. Charging can be fast thanks to a 50 kW charger (0 to 80% in 30 min), or a little slower at home with a 7 kW charger (about 2h30).
The updated Velar is already available to order, with an entry ticket set at €75,600 for the P400e plug-in hybrid in Velar trim, or €77,700 for the D200 diesel in R-Dynamic trim. SE.
