Sporting many elements dedicated to performance, the Cupra Formentor VZ5 is noted for its five-cylinder 390 horsepower, synonymous with a 0 to 100 km / h in 4.2 s.
Since its birth last year as the first Cupra-specific vehicle, in other words not from Seat, the Formentor has developed its range at high speed, from 150 to 310 horsepower, not to mention its arrival on the side of the plug-in hybrid. Now it is strengthening its status as most powerful model of Cupra by offering the surname VZ5. This version claims the trifle of 390 horsepower, almost triple the entry level.

Style and specific elements
The notion of performance is announced by six-piston calipers housed in 20-inch rims. These specific elements bear the copper color “Copper”, signature of the young brand launched in 2018. At the front, we notice the well sculpted lines of the hood, the black grille, the metallic Cupra logo and the air intakes located under the headlights, while at the rear, we note the presence of a carbon fiber diffuser incorporating four tailpipes, positioned diagonally. Compared to the 310 hp Formentor VZ, the ground clearance has been lowered by 10 mm.
Power and performance
This model responds to the name of VZ5, the two letters being the contraction of “Veloz”, a Spanish term relating to the concept of speed, while the number 5 corresponds to the number of cylinders. There is therefore an Audi scent in this Formentor, whose 2.5-liter block generates 390 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque from 2250 to 5700 rpm. All of this is shipped to all four wheels with 4Drive all-wheel drive and a dual-clutch DSG gearbox. The acceleration is first-rate, with a 0 to 100 km / h announced in just 4.2 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h.
Interior
The interior gives pride of place to an environment mixing connectivity and sportiness. There is a 12-inch infotainment screen, the Cupra steering wheel and above all, new leather bucket seats, inaugurated on this model. In addition to the usual safety and comfort technologies, we will also have 5 driving modes and 15 levels of piloted suspension adjustment. The choice of colors includes Matt Magnetic Gray, Midnight Black, Matt Petrol Blue and a new color who will be a light gray called Taïga Gray.
Produced at 7000 units
The Formentor VZ5 will be marketed in last trimestre and its price has not yet been announced, knowing that the 310 hp VZ is displayed at 44,670 euros. What we already know is that in order to focus on its exclusive character, Cupra decided to reserve a limited production of 7000 copies.
