The second Fisker model should not take long to be officially presented, the manufacturer having shared some images which show a certain number of characteristic elements of its future Pear SUV.
Henrik Fisker, maybe that doesn’t mean much to you, does it? However, if you are told that we owe this designer from Denmark the lines of certain models such as the Aston Martin DB9, the V8 Vantage or the BMW Z8, admit that we have piqued your curiosity, right? ? In recent years, he has found a new occupation, still in the automotive sector, creating his own brand. For the name, he did not look far: Fisker. After a first failed attempt around 2010 with an electric sedan equipped with a range extender called Karma, which some of you may remember, the manufacturer threw in the towel but was reborn from its ashes around the middle. of the decade, becomes Fisker Inc. and sets up its offices in Los Angeles, not far from a certain Tesla… whom he has precisely in his sights. The symbol of this rebirth is called Ocean, it is a zero-emission SUV whose arrival on our French roads is imminent. A second vehicle is in preparation, an SUV too, which will bear the name Pear and which Fisker has been unveiling in small touches for some time now. The Californian firm has just shared some very evocative images as well as some scattered information on the occasion of the presentation of its results for the last half of the year 2022.
Original, very original
Two pictures have been published: the first shows the SUV from the front in the dark, the second is brighter and we can see the next 3/4 rear Fisker in a dive. The family resemblance with her big brother is undeniable, especially when you admire her bow. Like him, the Pear has a very flat hood in height on which sits the brand logo and its horizontal face is placed almost exactly perpendicular. Like him, his headlights are thin, stretching far to the front fenders. However, a thin strip of light forming an almost continuous line brings them together while the name of the model appears in full in the center. The shield is also much more airy. The color of the launch vehicle is also very flashy: Fisker has opted for an apple green.
But while the overall shape is quite similar, which doesn’t surprise us in the least since it’s been seen for the first time in the past, the Pear stands out with some striking elements and the new images really allow us to appreciate these details. Example with the rear light signature that surrounds the bezel as a whole. Or the name Fisker written in full on the spoiler, in the extension of the roof with astonishing patterns. The profile also surprises with a windscreen pillar that is steeply angled at mid-height and from there forms an arch that surrounds the two side windows. The roof overhangs what appears to be a painted quarter window, giving the illusion of a shark fin but reversed. No really, this Fisker Pear will not go unnoticed when it lands on our roads.
Up to approx. 480 km range
This should be for 2024, when production is expected to start at a former General Motors plant in Ohio. For technology buffs, know that the Pear will be designed in collaboration with Foxconn. Yes, yes, the manufacturer of the iPhone! Fisker expects 250,000 copies per year. While it’s still too early to know the exact full specs, Fisker is aiming for just over 300 miles (480 km) of range in the best configuration.
The top prize is expected to be around $29,900, or around €28,130 at the current exchange rate. A rather aggressive price for a model roughly the size of a BMW iX1 or a Volvo XC40 Recharge. But of course, taxes will have to be added. That said, Fisker, unlike Tesla, knows how to keep its promises. The Ocean was advertised at €40,000, it costs €41,900 minimum, not much more.
