DS announces the arrival of a third plug-in hybrid variant for its sedan. With 250 hp and a 15.6 kWh battery, it offers up to 70 km of range.
During the presentation of the DS 9, the French manufacturer announced the later arrival of a third variant PHEV slightly more powerful but with more electric autonomy thanks to a large battery. At the end of 2021, DS is finally announcing the arrival of this 250 hp E-Tense variant.
250 hp and up to 70 km of electric autonomy
The DS 9 E-Tense 250 joins the range, already made up of a 225 hp PureTech petrol unit and two plug-in hybrids E-Tense 225 hp and E-Tense 4 × 4 360 hp. The new version is equipped with a 200 hp petrol unit associated with an 80 kW electric motor, or 110 hp. The battery, which offers a capacity of 15.6 kWh instead of 11.9 kWh for the other versions, allows the tricolor sedan to gain in autonomy. Thus, it climbs to 61 km on the mixed WLTP cycle, and up to 70 km on the urban WLTP cycle, which is much more than the theoretical 40 to 50 km of the other versions.
€ 58,000 minimum
The DS 9 E-Tense 250 is sold in France at a price of € 58,000 in its Performance Line + version, while the Rivoli + finish is available from € 60,900. As a reminder, the large sedan starts at € 48,700 with the 225 hp petrol engine, or from € 56,000 in a plug-in hybrid variant of the same power. The high-end variant E-Tense 4 × 4 with 360 hp is accessible from € 67,500.
