The tires of nearly 70 SUVs were deflated on the night of February 27 to 28 by environmental activists in downtown Toulouse.
The awakening of February 28 was less easy than the others, for several owners of SUVs in Toulouse. The latter had the unfortunate surprise of discovering that one or more tires of their car were deflated. In all, nearly 70 SUVs were flat.
An act performed by the group environmental activists “No SUV Tolosa” (no SUV in Toulouse), on the night of February 27 to 28. The downtown streets were their hunting ground for this night of action. The objective of these was to claim the climate impact of these vehicles. For this, they slipped a grain of cereal into the inflation valve, in order to put the vehicles at a standstill, as they explained:
“We would like to see these particularly polluting vehicles stationary. » « Our actions are reasoned and oriented towards the general interest. It’s not us who are violent, it’s the facts. The group wishes to “use the media impact of its actions to change minds for legislative purposes”, with “a clear positioning of the legislation with regard to these vehicles. “It is necessary, according to them, to organize” binding legislative actions for structures and individuals who pollute indecently. »
One year of action for tire deflators
At the same time, SUVs suffered the same fate in various European cities. Let us mention Milan, Paris, Berlin or even London. All part of a European movement, that of “The Tire Extinguishers”. A movement celebrating its first anniversary.
Still, the owners of what are only cars must not have appreciated seeing their vehicle(s) targeted by these militants. This is not likely to work out, because these activists, who do not commit an offense in the eyes of the law with these actions, promise a “another year of action”.
