The German company Emilia Auto has attacked the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT in order to offer it a brand new engine based on the Giulia Quadrifoglio.

If you are an automobile enthusiast, you are most likely familiar with theAlfa Romeo Giulia GT, a sports car marketed from 1963 to 1976 and designed by Giorgetto Giugaro. Having become one of the most emblematic cars in the world, with its recognizable look between a thousand and four cylinders, it has also been popular with companies specializing in restomods for several years. And this time, it’s a German company that has decided to tackle the Italian coupe, bringing it up to date with a slightly revised style and above all, a completely new engine. This is the company Emilia Auto, also specializing in the restoration of Porsche 911, which has therefore decided to revive this automobile myth through a new restomod, which will then be sold in very limited series to a handful of very lucky people. customers around the world.

For those who do not know the restomod, it is a technique aimed at modernizing an old car, with more recent elements, aesthetic as mechanical. These two aspects were tackled by the experts at Emilia Auto, who first worked on the design of the Italian sports car, in particular by offering it a new LED light signature, as well as a new aerodynamic kit. including a spoiler and air intakes on the fenders. The bonnet has been modified, while the wheel arches have been widened, giving a completely unique style to the car, without distorting it. The interior remains quite retro, with its large wooden steering wheel and its round speed rise. Note also the three small round counters on the dashboard, elegantly dressed in red. The occupants will take their place in very beautiful enveloping black leather seats.

Heart of Giulia

You will understand, the changes are relatively minimal with regard to the aesthetics of the Italian coupe, which remains very close to the original version. And that’s good ! On the other hand, the mechanics ofEmilia Auto have decided to tackle the car more in depth, by exchanging its original engine for a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 of 500 horsepower, which connoisseurs will easily recognize. And for good reason, it is the one that currently equips the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Suffice to say that the performance should be there, while this GT weighs just over 1,200 kilos, while all the power and 600 Nm of torque are sent to the rear wheels.

Only 22 copies of this Alfa Romeo Giulia GT will be produced worldwide, with an announced price of around € 400,000 per unit.
