The E.Leclerc centers announce a fuel operation at cost price from March 3 to 5 for the end of the school holidays.
E.Leclerc announces the establishment of a fuel operation at cost price at its 696 service stations, from this Friday 3 to this Sunday 5 March. A period of time that is not chosen at random, since it corresponds to the end of school holidays (all areas combined). And therefore to a weekend spent partly on the roads for many motorists.
Michel-Edouard Leclerc, president of the strategic committee of the E.Leclerc centres, details the reasons behind the implementation of this measurein a statement:
“The prices of energy, food products and services continue to rise and weigh on the budget of the French. While many motorists plan to make major trips for their return from vacation, we decide to give a boost to the pump and once again offer fuel at cost price to protect their purchasing power.
Don’t push too hard on the attractiveness button
This gesture from the E.Leclerc centers is, of course, to be welcomed by motorists. Still, it does not save much on the bill at the pump. In effect, this plays a few cents per liter on the price, around 4 to 5.
We should also remember that a few weeks ago, Michel-Edouard Leclerc admitted that we had to be careful do not make the price of fuel too attractive. Under penalty of seeing users rush into the stations and create shortages, as he declared in January on BFM TV :
“Technically, today, I mustn’t press the fuel attractiveness button too much. Because we are going to disrupt the supply circuits. »
“We saw during the Total operation (return to the pump at TotalEnergies, Editor’s note) that many stations were closed. They couldn’t supply. Do not lie to the consumer. »
