It’s a fashion that has been particularly true this week, some manufacturers have this tendency to unveil their new models in small touches, sometimes long before the official presentation. But the automotive news has not revolved only around these brands…
It was hoped that Tesla would finally present its small accessible model – perhaps one of the most anticipated vehicles of recent years – on the occasion of its new “keynote” held last Wednesday, well no, failed, we will have to wait a little longer. But apart from that, what shouldn’t be missed this week in the automotive news? Let’s take stock together.
Fisher Pear
It’s been months and months that Fisker – this Californian manufacturer who dreams of being the new Tesla – tells us about his future model, without giving more details. Will we see this SUV which will take the sweet name of Pear (“pear” in the language of Molière) for real one day? A priori, we would be tempted to think that the presentation is close. After all, the latest snapshots shared this week no longer hide much. The front face is barely concealed. As for the rear 3/4 visual, it allowed us to discover a light signature and a particularly original profile.
What else do we know about this new model?

Restyled Hyundai i10
If Hyundai is so successful nowadays, it is mainly thanks to its SUVs, the Kona but more particularly the Tucson, the first sale in its category at European level. Another element that helped the Korean manufacturer to make itself known, electrification. The latest Hyundai novelty that interests us here is not a raised vehicle and it is the only one in the range not to have the slightest electrified engine. We are talking about the i10, rather discreet on our roads, which has just enjoyed a small mid-career update. Very, very light, really, but we welcome the fact that the Asian brand persists in offering a city car while this segment is critically endangered.

Lexus UX 300e
It’s the turn of the zero-emission variant of the Lexus UX to inherit the few rare changes from which the thermal model benefited towards the middle of last year. It evolves much more than it seems at first glance since it adopts a battery with a much larger capacity than previously: 72.8 kWh when the pre-restyling model had to be satisfied with 54.3 kWh. As a result, autonomy is making a phenomenal leap forward and progressing by 40%!
Afterwards, but it is unfortunately quite logical, the prices also increased. A bit too much perhaps:

New Generation Mini Countryman
The British manufacturer has just shared the very first official photos of its future Countryman… still largely camouflaged. In fact, since our scoop hunters had discovered a similar copy a few months ago, in other words, we don’t discover much more. Ah yes, but we suspected it since it will be based on the same platform as the last BMW X1, it will like it be available for the very first time in its career in 100% electric.

Peugeot 3008 new generation
Only a few months left before the presentation of the new and third version of the 3008. Doomed to success, like those it replaces (especially the second launched in 2016), Peugeot has therefore taken care of this next iteration. Like the previous one, it should be strong in mouth. But be careful, don’t expect it to take up some of the features of the Inception concept, presented at CES in Las Vegas earlier this year. The inspiration should come more from the Inspiration showcar dating from 2017. Obviously, we will find some of the elements inaugurated by the last 308 such as the redesigned logo.

Tesla: a small model on the way
We told you about it in the introduction. The latest Tesla event was mostly a disappointment. Although it was mentioned many times throughout the conference, the little inexpensive Tesla that everyone had been waiting for was not shown. They asked many questions about it, it is obvious that investors were waiting for it, journalists and the public too. As for some scattered information gleaned during these few hours of presentation, they did not allow us to know much about it. Note that Tesla is preparing another model, in addition to the one everyone calls the “Model 2”, but the leader of the American brand, Elon Musk, and his team have not said a word about it.
Here’s what to remember about this new “Investor Day”:

Restyled Volkswagen ID.3
The Wolfsburg brand hoped to reproduce the same success as with its Golf and make the ID.3 the benchmark to beat in Europe, the sauce never really took. Last year, the bigger and more expensive ID.4 sold even more than it did. So she already goes through the restyling box. The evolutions are not obvious but they are much deeper than you could imagine. The manufacturer has particularly endeavored to improve perceived quality.
