In four years, the Cybertruck has been spotted several times being tested during its development, but the latest prototype seen this week has stayed true to the original concept.

Despite many pedestrian protection and homologation fears, the drawn features and flat faces of the Cybertruck are still relevant, with trapezoidal fender extensions projecting from the bodywork and a flush windshield, placed in the extension of the hood and using a single but enormous wiper.
Ugly, the Cybertruck? The opinion of the professionals
In terms of style, all tastes are in nature, it’s subjective par excellence, we like it or we hate it, we agree. But the line of a vehicle must however respond to a certain number of codes in the proportions, in the geometry and in the symmetry. I have met many designers in recent years from all kinds of brands, from the most popular to the most prestigious, and to whom, for some, we attribute the paternity of models unanimously considered as the most beautiful modern cars and I got into the habit of asking them for their opinion on the Cybertruck. And the answer was basically the same: it’s interesting, but it’s lazy. Translation: it looks like a first draft, the one made on a napkin at the end of a meal in a restaurant with the waiter’s pen, directly put into production without going through countless phases of refining to achieve a homogeneous silhouette.

However, contrary to what one might imagine, the aerodynamics of the Cybertruck is rather promising compared to other pickups, in particular thanks to this continuous line starting from the top of the windshield to the vertical side panel, which forms a rear in the more Kammback style dear to the Toyota Prius or the Hyundai Ioniq and known to reduce turbulence.
What has changed, however, is in the structure. While much of the bodywork serves as a stainless steel exoskeleton as intended, the production Cybertruck will adopt a more conventional aluminum section at the rear. The latter will be produced by the famous 8,000-ton Giga Press at the Texas plant.
The Tesla pick-up will enter dealerships with triangular exterior mirrors, but cameras will be available as an option to replace them and thus reduce drag a little more. Nevertheless, the pre-production rims stolen from a lunar machine should not survive on the final version.
Tesla Cybertruck : son habitacle
We also find there a cabin faithful to the first version of 2019, with two rows of seats and a massive and square dashboard in the middle of which is planted a large touch screen. The middle seat at the front, however, has been replaced by a large storage volume, the seat cushions of the rear seats are reassembled in the spirit of Honda’s Magic Seats and the steering wheel can now be described as rectangular, placing itself like a hybrid between the Plaid Yoke and a conventional round element. Finally, the whole now benefits from a panoramic glass roof.
Latest Cybertruck is a spectacle. Love that the rear seats fold up. Camera in front bumper will help when 4 wheeling. Charge port is in the right rear wheel well. pic.twitter.com/OsqrbP164G

Tesla Cybertruck: dimensions and weight
The Tesla Cybertruck is physically a monster in Europe, less so in the United States where it ranks in the middle of large pickups, at 5,885 mm long, 2,027 mm wide and 1,905 mm high. We do not know, on the other hand, not exactly how much it weighs, the projections making the big difference between 2.3 and 3 tons depending on the version, but it will be able to take up to 1,600 kg of load and tow up to 6,350 kg. .
Its 2,832 liter bed, which can accommodate objects up to 1,981 mm long, is now protected by a tonneau cover.

The Cybertruck is also expected at the turn in terms of services off the bitumen. On paper, it boasts 406mm of ground clearance, a 35-degree angle of attack and a 28-degree departure angle, which is better than a Ford F-150 Lightning. A whole battery of traction systems is also provided to simulate mechanical self-locking differentials.
However, we will have to wait a little longer to see its true off-road potential.
