The CGT announces that fuel shipments are blocked in all refineries in France, when TotalEnergies reassures about the situation.
The pension reform is contested in force in the street, this Tuesday, March 7. Many unions have called for a strike. This concerns in particular the oil sector, with a massive mobilization according to the CGT. Thus, the chemical branch of the union announced at 7.30 a.m. that fuel shipments are blocked in all refineries in France. Witness Eric Sellini, national elected representative of the union, in remarks relayed by Le Figaro :
“The strike started everywhere (…) with very variable proportions of strikers depending on the sites but with shipments blocked at the exit of all the refineries this morning. »
The CGT called for the renewable strike from this Monday, March 6 in the refineries. This in order to “bring France to a standstill”, according to the union. The desired goal is also to disrupt supply chains. Motorists, driven by the fear of running out of gas, can in fact rush to gas stationswhich increases the risk of shortages.
TotalEnergies wants to be reassuring against the strikers
Eric Sellini also said this morning that the refineries of TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil and Petroineos are affected by this social movement. Nevertheless the management of the French energy company is reassuring, as to the current situation, related to fuel stocks. As testified by a representative, quoted by Le Figaro :
“We confirm that there is no lack of fuel in our stations. “In addition, stocks in depots and service stations are at a high level. “The TotalEnergies teams are mobilized and have additional logistical resources, if necessary. »
