The replacement for the Aventador will be a plug-in hybrid. The atmospheric V12 will be associated with three electric motors.
In a few weeks, Lamborghini will unveil its new supercar, which will take over from the Aventador. The model will bring the Italian firm into the era of electrification, because it will be a real hybrid, and even a rechargeable hybrid. The Sian, unveiled in 2019, had mild hybridization.
However, there is no question of taking advantage of the hybrid to do downsizing! The next flagship of the bull will thus remain faithful to the V12, in the rear central position. It will still be a 6.5-liter atmospheric block. Reworked, this V12 will set a new power record for a heat engine at Lambo, with 825 hp. Its maximum torque is 725 Nm at 6750 rpm.
This block is associated with three electric motors. A first of 110 kW is located at the level of the gearbox, an 8-speed dual clutch, and can drive the rear wheels. The other two are located on the front axle, which allows four-wheel drive. Their power is also 110 kW. Thanks to their independent management, we benefit from a “torque vectoring” function, a distribution of the torque between the wheels.

The maximum cumulative power of the set is 1015 hp! What promise sacred performance, even if on this point the brand says nothing yet. And these performances will go with a much better homologated CO2 balance, because the one that is still nicknamed by the code LB744 is plug-in.
However, there is no question of setting a distance record in electric. The model is content with a lithium-ion battery of only 3.8 kWh. This battery is housed in the central tunnel, occupying the space over a thin length, which avoids weight gain and lowers the center of gravity. It takes 30 minutes to recharge it in 7 kW. In all-electric mode, only the front motors work, so it’s traction! The battery can also be recharged by regenerative braking or V12.
Thanks to this technical set, this Lamborghini should have a small CO2 penalty with us!
