If the Aceman will be marketed in 2025, Mini begins to give technical details on the production version.
Over the next two years, Mini will launch three new electric models. The first will be a trendy version of the third generation of the Countryman. The second will be a completely new version of the 3-door. The third will be a new vehicle, the Aceman.
It is a small urban SUV, about 4.05 meters long. The particularity of the Aceman will be to be the first only electric Mini model, while the Hatch and Countryman will still have thermal equivalents.
The model will be based on a new platform dedicated to electric, the Sportlight EV, developed by BMW and the Chinese Great Wall Motors. And the Aceman will also be assembled in China, as for the next 3-door electric.
Our English colleagues were able to preview a camouflaged prototype of the vehicle, revealing on this occasion new elements of the technical sheet. Unsurprisingly, it will be close to that of the Hatch, with two engines: 184 hp in the E version and 218 hp in the SE version.

On the battery side, there will also be two levels: 40 and 54 kWh. The larger battery should give a combined WLTP range of around 380 km, although nothing is official on this point. Mini will thus be in the middle of the trendy small SUV market. The rival in the viewfinder is the Jeep Avenger, which is already having a good start to its career even before arriving in dealerships. This one promises just over 400 km with the basic version.
Mini hopes for the same success for the Aceman, to the point that it already sees the model becoming its bestseller. According to Stefanie Wurst, new boss of Mini, the vehicle “ticks all the boxes” to be a success. It’s an SUV, five doors, electric. It can thus be the main car of the household, that of complement, or a first purchase at Mini. Provided you have the budget of course! The entry ticket should be around 40,000 €.
Expected in dealerships in the first half of 2025, the Aceman will indirectly take over from the Clubman. It will be much shorter… but ultimately its size will be that of the first Countryman. The design is partly known, thanks to the presentation of the concept car in 2022 (photo illustration).
