DS offers on its two best-selling models a special series called “Spirit of Travel”. Marketed throughout 2023, it is launching a program of annual “collections” in the style of the fashion industry.
Since gaining independence from Citroën to become a brand in its own right in 2014, DS Automobiles has been surfing on French chic with finishes and special series with evocative names: Rivoli, Opéra, Bastille and Trocadéro. . It continues with the induction of a new temporary finish, this time within a new program.
Like the fashion industry, DS is inaugurating a “collection”, which will be renewed each year with new special series on several models. To begin with, its two best-selling vehicles on the market received the first “Spirit of Travel” collection.
A more equipped Rivoli with specific details
This Esprit de voyage collection is based on the Rivoli finishes of the DS4 and DS7, which are already well equipped. It adds some additional equipment (electric, heated, massaging and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, motorized tailgate, aluminum pedals or laminated side windows), and specific light upholstery in grained leather like a watch strap. The dashboard in the same color receives an embossed pattern which, according to DS, illustrates “the ambition to promote the know-how of DS Automobiles from Paris”. A map of Europe is thus drawn with a central point on Paris, where fine trains converge. This motif is also found on the exterior mirror shells of both models and the specific door sills.
Outside, the other details are less marked: glossy black inserts under the front and rear lights and around the grille on the DS Wings, glossy black window surrounds, black roof bars on the DS7, optional black roof on the DS4 , 19-inch rims with specific finish (anthracite gray on DS4 and DS7).
The sale of the DS4 and DS7 Esprit de voyage has already been launched, from March 8, with several engines to choose from: petrol and diesel 130 hp and plug-in hybrid 225 hp for the DS4, diesel 130 hp and plug-in hybrids 225 and 300 hp for the DS7. The compact starts at €44,550, while the SUV starts at €52,500.
