If the State does not always offer – as it had promised – an electric car at 100 €/month for rental, Dacia is already doing better than that. And it’s been going on for a few years.
It was just a few days ago, the Minister of Ecological Transition and Cohesion of the Territories of France, Christophe Béchu, had given some details on the electric car rental at 100 € / month promised by Emmanuel Macron there some time ago. Words in the air? Hard to say, but fortunately the manufacturers are there to take the question of the purchasing power of the French head on. This is the case of Dacia which – through a program of solidarity offers called “CareMakers” – seems to want to tell them: “I have understood you”.
A new or used car accessible “even in the event of banking difficulties”
Moreover, the Romanian manufacturer did not wait for the high inflation of recent months to embark on this adventure. The program has been in existence since 2019 and has enabled some 2,000 people, some of whom live in remote rural areas and who therefore absolutely need a vehicle to get around and, more importantly, to work to afford one. If some of the beneficiaries were nevertheless unemployed, if it was difficult or even impossible for them to take out a bank loan (banking ban, over-indebtedness, limited-term employment contract, etc.), the solution offered by Dacia is more flexible. To benefit from this offer, you must 1) live in metropolitan France, 2) need to travel in a professional setting and 3) have income that does not exceed the thresholds determined by the prescribing partners. Private or public actors such as Pole Emploi, Emmaüs France or Restaurants du Cœur to name the best known of them. There are five funding organizations studying the file. A new electric Dacia Spring from €40/month, but not only zero-emission models
You are eligible ? Excellent news, you will have the choice between several offers. For example, you can opt for a new car with a choice of the Sandero in its entry-level petrol (65 hp) or LPG (100 hp) variants or the 100% electric Spring. It is moreover the latter the most interesting of all from a financial point of view since, in the best of cases, the price could fall to 40 €/month (including of course the government boosts such as the ecological bonus or the conversion bonus but also premises). Dacia is therefore already doing much better than what the State is proposing… However, the precise conditions remain to be known (mileage, duration but 24 minus minimum, etc.), this is not specified. What we do know is that the vehicles are guaranteed for 3 years or 100,000 km (as always with Dacia) and that maintenance is, alas, not included. But in Renault solidarity garages (there are 320 across France), eligible people will benefit from a discount of around 40% on parts and labour. It’s already not that bad.
Used cars too
Your budget is a little more limited, or you are not convinced by the models offered new, they are too small for example, go on a occasion, this is also possible. Among the models currently on offer, there is, for example, a 2014 petrol Scénic, with 113,000 km on the odometer, from €155/month. It’s not given, given, but – once again – the conditions for accepting the file are more flexible. On the other hand, there, it is the minimum service from the point of view of services with a warranty parts and labor limited to 3 months. Okay.
An offer for self-employed people
Dacia is also thinking of professionals and especially entrepreneurs who, because of their precarious status, cannot easily take out a consumer loan. Only one possible option, a Renault Express Van. Ah yes, damn, what is a Renault doing here? That said, the Express Van is a re-bodied version of the Dacia Dokker) so good. Count 266 €/month with a 100 hp petrol engine. Same conditions and same guarantees as the new Dacia models mentioned above. In short, great initiatives that deserved to be welcomed and that could interest more than one.
