After the Nio ET5 sedan, it’s the turn of a station wagon variant to prepare for its arrival. The model will be exclusively marketed in Europe but produced in China.
The young Chinese brand Nio intends to conquer the European market. It is thus developing its range, which today consists of two sedans and a large SUV on the Old Continent. Another vehicle, this time in the form of a station wagon, is planned for this summer. New images from the Chinese Ministry of Industry reveal the look of this elegant ET5 electric station wagon.
Unveiled in December 2021, Nio’s ET5 sedan is a rival to the Tesla Model 3. It has already been sold in Germany since the end of 2022 from €49,900. To complete the range, the break will be marketed from June in Europe. It will have the same dimensions (4.79 m long including 2.88 m wheelbase, 1.96 m wide and 1.49 m high), with however a little more space at the head and in the the trunk to be expected.
Up to 700 km range
The ET5 break stands out especially at the rear with marked hips and a stern barred by a large light strip, which evokes in particular the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. Like the sedan, the station wagon has a big LiDAR on the roof for driving aids.
Under the hood, the ET5 break should use the same engine as the sedan, with a duo of electric motors offering 483 hp and 700 Nm in cumulative power (201 hp at the front and 282 hp at the rear). Two battery capacities would be expected (75 kWh and 100 kWh), offering between 500 and 700 km of autonomy.
